A Hungry Vegan in Rome
After the Amalfi Coast we headed to Rome. More about our Amalfi Coast adventure here. Rome was definitely an interesting experience. Old buildings, millions of people (too many for my liking to be honest) and hotter than hot weather. First I was a bit sceptic, but the city did grow on me. Especially the food scene was great and I'm happy to thick of a few historical monuments of the list.
I thought I'd share my favourite vegan places in Rome. Find them listed below:
If you need a break from the typical Italian food you need to visit this raw vegan restaurant. The space is minimalistic and you feel like you're up for a good meal the minute you walk in. They put their heart into every meal and you can taste it.
If you want vegan croissants, pie and coffee for breakfast go here. They also serve up a vegan buffet for lunch which looks epic!
The best place in Rome, no doubt! I would go back a million times. They have an all vegan menu and the food taste like the real deal. I wanted to cry when they served me vegan bologonese with vegan parmesan.
Il Margutta Veggy Food & Art
A vegetarian restaurant that serves up a huge veggie buffet for lunch which is well worth its price. Everything is very well labeled, so you won't have any trouble knowing what's vegan. Also an art gallery.
No need to go around hangry when in Rome. Also, don't forget to stuff your face with gelato. My favourite was the dark chocolate sorbet that could be found at most gelato shops.
Have you ever been in Rome? If so, what was your favourite thing about this old city?
