Kitchen Stories with Agata from @cinnamonandberries

Agata is breakfast lover from Poland who shares her picture perfect smoothie bowls and pancake stacks on Instagram. When I say picture perfect all of her creations truly are that.

I'm happy to get to feature this talented girl here in my 'Kitchen Stories' series. I'm also happy to tell that Agata was kind enough to share a pretty exciting sweet treat recipe, so keep reading, because you don't want to miss out on it. 

Enough from me, now it's your turn Agata.

Hi Agata tell us all a little bit about yourself. 

Hi! My name is Agata. I am 18 year old girl from Poland. I am passionate about healthy living and plant based foods. I have little adorable doggie, his name is Tofik. We call him 'Berry Lover' because he loves candy berries just like me. 

You have a stunning Instagram account where you share your amazing creations. When and how did you get into cooking? How about adding more plant based foods to your diet? 

It was really unexpected for me. I remember that morning when I took my first pancake photo ever. Taking photos quickly turned in to my passion. Now I can’t imagine morning without taking photos. I really enjoy eating mostly plant based, because plant food is really delicious and I am full and energized for the whole day. It came really naturally for me as well. I just stated adding more fruits to my bowls and cutting down on meat, eggs and dairy. You can notice the difference between my first photos and the last ones. 

Name three must haves in your kitchen. 

Definitely ripe frozen bananas, fresh berries and wheat grass. I drink wheatgrass every day before breakfast and before sleep. 

Breakfast, lunch or dinner? Why? 

Breakfast! Creating breakfast bowls is my favourite part of a day and I really like the sweet natural taste of fruit.

Would you like to share a favourite breakfast recipe? 

My favourite breakfast is very simple. It is acai bowl topped with peanut butter. You just need to mix 3 big ripe frozen bananas, 1 cup of blackberries, 1 tbsp of acai powder and it's mandatory to top it with peanut butter!

What would your perfect food day look like?

 During my perfect food day I would eat a big bowl of banana ice cream with lots of toppings for breakfast, pasta with veggies and pesto for lunch and a avocado, paprika and millet salad for dinner plus coconut water for desert.

You are living in Gdynia, Poland. Which places, cafes, restaurants and food shops must one visit when visiting your home town? Feel free to share your hidden gems.

 I really appreciate a small coffee restaurant called 'Corner Cafe'. They make really yummie and refreshing smoothies. I always go there with my girls!

We all have a sweet tooth, don't we? What do you prefer to have when you need that sweet kick? Maybe you’d like to share an easy recipe as well? 

Maybe it will be unexpected answer. When I really need something sweet I just eat this. I try not to make restrictions, as I try to live healthy I also create my own recipes for sweet treats. Here is my favourite recipe - salted caramel raw bliss balls with mini marshmallows.


Raw Salted Caramel Bliss Balls

with Mini Marshmallows

vegan* ● gf

2 cups oats

200 g dates

4 tbsp natural peanut butter

1 tbsp melted coconut oil

1 tbsp baobab powder

pinch of salt

1 tbsp maple syrup

handful of mini marshmallows

  1. Soak the dates for 5 hours or overnight (it works the same).

  2. When your dates are ready mix them until smooth.

  3. Mix oats into flour. Put mixed dates and oat flour into a big bowl.

  4. Add in 3 tbsp peanut butter, 1 tbsp baobab powder, pinch of salt and 2 tbsp coconut oil.

  5. Mix with your hands and form balls. Remember to add one marshmallow inside of every ball.

  6. To make caramel sauce -mix 1 tbsp maple syrup, 1 tbsp melted coconut oil, 1 tbsp peanut butter and a pinch of salt.

  7. Top the balls with sauce and marshmallows.

* Vegan if marshmallows are a vegan brand. 

Your smoothie bowls are always spot on. What are your best tips when it comes to serving a beautifully presented smoothie bowl? Do you have any favourite toppings? 

I always try to make my bowls as colourful as possible. I love to eat my smoothies with berries and peanut butter on top. My tip: Make photos with heart and passion. They will always turn out perfect!

You are obviously very inspiring young woman. Where do you get your cooking inspiration from? Any specific foodies out there that inspire you? 

All ideas for breakfasts come from myself. Sometime I can’t sleep because I'm thinking what to create for breakfast in the morning.
