Cacao Inca Bliss Balls

Bliss balls are probably one of the easiest things to whip up in the kitchen and that's why you have no excuse not to make them. I love having bliss balls in the fridge - they are such an easy snack whenever I need something to pick me up or crave something sweet.

The story behind these bliss balls is that I just threw a bunch of things I had in the cupboard into my blender. This happened one of those afternoons when I felt like baking but didn't have much to go with. Well dates, cacao, incaberries and coconut took me a longer way than I thought. I fell in love with the flavor combination of the tart inca with the sweet chocolate. It was ah-mazing. 

Since that baking session I haven't gotten those flavors off my mind, so I simply had to redo the recipe - this time with measurements. 

With bliss balls you always want to add a little bit of bliss into them right? Well, I've packed these ones with plenty of bliss. Incaberries, cacao, maca and kakadu plum all bring that extra little nutritional kick. Cacao Inca Bliss Balls

vegan ● gf ● rfsf

2 cups dried pitted dates

1 cup desiccated coconut

1/2 cup dried incaberries

3 tbsp cacao

1 tsp coconut sugar

1 tsp maca powder 

1 tsp kakadu plum powder (optional)

splash of water

  1. Add all of the ingredients into a food processor together with a small splash of water (1 tbsp or so).

  2. Process until you end up with a sticky 'dough'.

  3. Roll the dough into balls.

  4. You can also roll the balls in different coatings - I chose desiccated coconut, cacao powder and kakadu plum powder. You could also decorate them with dried incaberries if you like.

  5. Store the ready made bliss balls in the fridge in an airtight container.
