My Conscious Christmas Wish List
Christmas is just around the corner and I couldn't be more excited.
Why am I so excited? I think it has to do with me being back in Scandinavia. I did love everything about my time in Australia, but Christmas never felt like the real deal. I could never got into the true Christmas spirit. I've missed celebrating a cozy and cold Nordic Christmas and that's why I'm very excited for Christmas this year.
One thing I'm not looking forward to this year is all of the chaos and stressed people running around buying their last minute gifts. I'm sick of Christmas being such a consumer centred holiday. This year I'll be putting my energy into enjoying quality time with my family and treat them with something home made instead of buying useless things.
I've already put together a kinder gift guide for him and her that you can find here. Today I thought I'd share a few of my own Christmas wishes inspired by a few other bloggers out there. As I want to be a conscious consumer I've put thought into what I really want and need. No more fast fashion or things that will fall apart after only a few times use. I'd rather wish for classics or useful quality things that will last me.
One can never have too much inspiration, right? One of my biggest foodie crushes is Elsie Bullen from @elsaswholesomelife and she recently released her own cook book. I'd love to add this beauty of a book to my collection.
The first perfume I ever owned was one that smelled like vanilla. My mum got it for me during one of her business trips when I was a little girl. I was completely blown away by the sent and the beautiful bottle. Vanilla has been my favourite sent ever since. My favourite natural beauty version is the Pure Vanilla by LaVanila and sandy I've ran out.
I've never invested in a good pair of sunglasses and that's probably why the ones I get never last. It was love at first sight when I saw this beautiful black pair of from Sticks & Sparrow. This Australian brand creates sustainable sunglasses using materials bamboo and cork and are all made by hand. I think that's pretty damn amazing.
My beloved Converse are falling apart once again. I think it's time to change things up a little bit and try something new. I've recently discovered the Italian brand Superga and their sneakers. I'd love a pair of the Black Cotu Classics and the best part? These sneakers are completely vegan.
As a student I can't buy a lot of healthy superfoods, natural beauty or fun new vegan products to try in the kitchen. That's why a gift card to my favourite Finnish eco supermarket Ruohonjuuri would be the best gift one could wish for.
As a food blogger I love new plates and ceramics to use as props in my photos. One specific plate that hasn't left my mind is the pink Oiva Puolikas plate by Marimekko. This Finnish brad has a special place in my heart and I love how open they are about their sustainability and ethics, read more about them here.
What do you wish for Christmas this year?
